I can just make a few adjustments to my unused Halloween entry and call it "Did the turkey take his medication".

I'm in. No choice. There's this turkey following me around in Denver right now. I thought I shook it in Estes Park, but there it was, in the crusty brown prairie, perched on the back of a bull elk, it's bleached, hormone-laden body menacing and odd among the twisted bristlecone and sage brush. Thanksgiving will be good if I can get rid of this bloated foul. I may have to kill it, if the coyotes don't do it first.

I can think of a solution that would result in a very tasty Thanksgiving. ;)

Seeing as how I am new to the board and have never entered one of these before, can you give me some rules? How do I turn my work in?
I like contests where there's no real prize because then there's no pressure and lots of fun.

Hi Clueless,
Is there a reward, a prize? Did I miss it?!
Does winner WIN a credit or something during the high end votes?

:turkey:
I'm going to have to find a latin translation of giving a voice to the turkey. It'll sound like incredibly academic. Ya'll can use it at them there fancy pants cocktail parties.

Anyway, but in all fairness, this is a Writing Exercises Forum.
The contest forum is over somewhere else. I'm just being a bit flippant to draw attention to the benefits of exercises. So the next thread should really be an exercise.
I know, how about a chase scene exercise.
Two pages. And no more than three lines of dialogue all up.

Thanks all, particularly clueless for taking the time run these exercises.
I had a few family members read Wishbone during Thanksgiving. Quite fun.
For some weird reason, I kept hearing Steve Buscemi doing the Turkey's dialogue while I was writing it.

Lucky I'm already on holidays.
I mean, no one even got the ode to Centos "it doesn't have to make sense" aspect?
Or the running battle with dpat over him always accusing me of needing medication joke?
Oh, man. Who have I been talking to here?

But message boards are a medium in themselves aren't they.
I've figured out that what I do is set traps, and I jump up and down putting on a show to distract from the trap being set.
And then I catch them all in it, because they've all ended up behaving even worse than me.
And then I get to make a statement. That's the punk influence.
But ..... who......am......I......talking.......to....... ????
