My manager informed me of this a few days ago. And also the re-imagining of Cinderella that's on the cards.

Personally as someone already in everywhere with (and looking to package) an action/thriller re-imagining of Cinderella, I'm still not sure what to think of this. Either-

1) This is one of those moments where everyone buys up fairytale retellings because this is HW's new market (much like Horror/slasher made a come back a few years back and now it's superhero movies) and, just like when a movie smashes box office out of the blue (ie. Everything is now 'the next Hangover') I've manged to catch the zeitgeist at just the right time.

or.... more worringly.

2) Studios begin to reject other fairytale scripts due to similar projects or conflicting interests.

Either way, time will tell. :)

I can't wait until they hire egomaniac directors to turn all of these reimaginings back into plain old imaginings.
