Just saw the announcement of its formation on the front of the site. Any info on specifics, such as development execs or type of film (in regard to budget range) they're looking for?

I'm not sure if this SyFy Films endeavor is anything like their network programming... but for what it's worth, I had two different writer friends who - separately - queried SyFy about doing TV movies and were told in no uncertain terms that they develop all their own stuff in-house, don't even look at specs, and have no interest in considering writers outside their tight-knit group.

Not sure if that's still true, but just thought I'd mention it.

Funny, you'd think based on the quality of their movies (I know, I know... the ratings tell a different story), they'd be looking to bring in outside writers. ;)

They haven't fully set this up yet. They are looking for an executive now. Mark Stern and Donna Langley will then oversee this person and this new "division."
