as a network show, love it or hate it? I'm on the fence, as I'm not sure I get it. Is every episode 1 "life"? It just seems like a plot device that would NOT translate to TV, so I think it's a very interesting choice. It was a good movie but it's not like it was a monster blockbuster. Maybe Mark Gordon can just convince them to do anything...
Thoughts?

I can see it being like a Quantum Leap sort of thing -- lead actor jumps into a different body every week, but all contemporary.

UPN (remember them?) had a show where a guy could do limited time travel to stop huge disasters/attacks/etc. I always liked that show (just looked it up: SEVEN DAYS: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0167720/ ). SOURCE CODE reminded me of it (and my 59 SECONDS treatment - dammit!).

yea, seems like the focus would just be on a different disaster every week and preventing it through the time travel plot somehow.

interesting. i wonder how they'll work out the structural problems?

That's odd - when I read the script I had the opposite thought - I thought it would translate well onto TV.
Kind of like 'Quantum Leap' or 'Tru Calling'. Not as light as 'First Edition' - but it's a fairly successful formula : A lone character (with perhaps the very limited help of another) tries to change history and stop something 'bad' from happening each episode.
Heck - the new series "A Person of Interest" looks like it's following the same formula too.
At some point in the series they need to discover that there is another character who is aware of their time meddling and is working against them - that's part of the formula too. There will be an over-arching plot line where our hero learns more about the mysterious force behind his time travel as well.
It's a well-tried formula. I've enjoyed every series that used it.

hi,
i dunno, i think they’ll run into a deeper structural problem adapting this to television. in the film, the protag is comatose and missing half of his brain; the mystery of his circumstances propels the plot through his need and the girl/train/city supplies the stakes. remove the mystery (because it’s no longer a mystery) and you’re left with a guy who has no reasonable reason to seek home (in fact otherwise) so there’s no need or stakes except to stay away. and if they delve into the time prior to his injury to develop them then it bumps up against the concept because his injury is the reason he’s in the source.
maybe they'll approach it from the angle after he's become part of the source (after the film ends)? ... huh, wow, that works doesn't it? is that what they're doing? anybody know?
