I seem to remember this idea being thrown around...

Who's Buying What Interview: Susan Brightbill
================================================== ===============
by Rita Cook

Susan Brightbill recently sold her second spec script, this time
to Fox 2000. A romantic comedy called "Twice Upon a Time," which
she reportedly received mid-to-six figures for, Brightbill's
humor is refreshing and her advice well given.

Q: Tell me about your latest script.

A: It's a dramedy titled "Twice Upon a Time" about a divorced
couple who start dating each other after being apart for 10 years
and the implications that it has on their children.

Q: How did you come up with the idea?

A: I just looked around. Divorce is so prevalent today that it's
hard to get away from it. I wanted to write about the aftermath
of divorce - but I knew I needed to do so with levity. That's why
it's a love story about divorce.

Q: How long had you been working on it?

A: About a year. I always write the first draft very quickly - in
a month or two. And then I spend the rest of the time rewriting.
And rewriting. And rewriting . . .

Q: Tell me the story of how you sold this script?

A: I have an incredible team of people that made this possible.
My agent, Maha Dakhil and managers Michael Lasker, Jeremy Bell
and George Heller at Foursight are the smartest, most daring,
supportive people out there. They handpicked the producers and
even attached an A-list director at many studios. Two weeks later
I was shopping for three-holed paper at Staples (oh the irony!)
when Fox 2000 called with an offer. We were still alive at other
studios, but we felt that Fox 2000 was the right place for this
script and we decided not to instigate a bidding war. So my
lawyer (the fabulous Jeff Frankel) worked out the deal and then I
jumped up and down for a week, used all of my Sprint minutes and
decided to buy all new socks.
