We're looking to hold another get together for screenwriters/visitors of our message board in the Los Angeles area. Due to various schedule hurdles we're considering Saturday, August 14th. The date is a bit further away than I'd like but I want to do something different for a change.

One of the reasons this date is being considered is that I'm working on arrangements for a new, unique location as well as new overall approach to this gathering. I'm trying to hold a cocktail party type event in which everyone could more easily circulate and talk with one another. Also, we'd provide food and drinks for everyone as treat. In addition, I'd try to have our usual raffle too. I won't mention this place just yet but I think it could/will be an interesting spot to hold this get together in and possibly even future ones if it works out.

So, I just need to know if this day/date would work for most (if not all) of you interested in coming. Thanks.

For what it's worth, I will be in LA the weekend of July 24-25 (and some days on either side of it). If a get-together were held then, I could attend (and would love to).

Sounds interesting, I think I might try to attend this, so long as the plane ticket isn't really expensive (still gotta pay the bills and school and all you know).

Also, is it a one day deal? I would like to visit LA sometime (hope I don't get lost there. although I'm used to "big city" feel too, but not to the scale of LA hehe), and would like to see if I can afford to spend a few days there.

It's a one evening deal. Though we've always enjoyed having them and meeting people face to face, I wouldn't suggest flying out for one unless you have other business here. It's very casual and very informal. Mainly a chance for people that post here to get together and catch up in person.

I'm not sure if we are going to be holding a get together in August after all. My schedule is up in the air right now. I might have to hold off on till a little later in the year.

I'm hoping to make a final decision in the next week, though if we do have one it'll most likely take place at Jerry's again or possibly Red Rock on Sunset. (e'll save the other place I was working on for the following get together since it needs to be more definite to properly secure.)

Thanks for the offer but the Get Togethers are very, very informal and more on the small side compared to say a convention. It's really just for folks living in the LA area.

As of now we're holding off on doing it till I can see what my schedule's going to look like for the coming months. As soon as I can see what's happening and plan it well then I'll try to set a new date.
