TV Writer.Com Update!!!

PEOPLE'S PICTURE SHOW WINNER SLALOMS THROUGH HOLLYWOOD'S GATES

Westlake Village, January 31, 2002

The Olympics aren't the only big news in Utah this week. Salt Lake City writer Craig Clyde has left conventional wisdom as tangled as a bunny
skier on an expert slope, selling his prize-winning screenplay, A HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS, to a Hollywood film company without having to leave his house.

The smart money in show business says writers have to be in L.A. in order to wheel and deal, but Clyde's big chance came over the Internet. He was the winner of the first People's Picture Show, a screenplay contest sponsored by award-winning Web writing site TV Writer.Com in association with Cosgrove/Meurer Productions.

Taking home the gold was only the beginning of Clyde's climb. The big prize in the People's Picture Show was a guaranteed option on the winning screenplay by Cosgrove/Meurer, producer of a dozen Made-For-TV
movies in the past two years as well as the long-running series UNSOLVED MYSTERIES, but, said Clyde, "After I was informed that I'd won I was offered four different deals within twelve hours."

Suddenly, the unrepresented Clyde found himself negotiating simultaneously with Cosgrove/Meurer, Hearst Entertainment, Porchlight Entertainment, and a company owned by two "established actors" he preferred not to name. "After a heady four days of negotiations I
acceped Porchlight's offer," Clyde said.

"The purpose of the People's Picture Show is to find existing screenplays by talented writers who have been overlooked by the Industry because they aren't part of the Hollywood scene," said TV Writer.Com CEO
Larry Brody, former producer of the Emmy winning series POLICE STORY and head writer of the TV animation classic THE SILVER SURFER. "But when Craig's win got him a chance to have the script produced as a feature
film, we were all, "Go, dude, go!"

For Clyde, the outcome was a dream come true. "It wouldn't have happened had I not entered the competition," he said. "It was an immediate door-opener. The experience gives me access to both Hearst
and Cosgrove/Meurer for future projects. Pretty damned good for one contest, and a brand new one at that."

Yeah, and I'm hoping the added attention to tvwriter and its contests may mean more interest in Gord & Stan.

Larry has said to me that while G&S is on the sked for Sega's trip, if a better offer comes along, we are taking it.
