Hi,

I have completed and registered my script with the WGA (7-09-04).

My question is this: If i decide to change the name of the story even slightly do I have to re-register it under the new name? The story has went through many revisions since it was registered as well.

please advise and thanks

Do most of you re-register each of your revisions, none of them, every other one, or what?

I register my "first draft." But that's pretty much it.

Let's face it. If someone wants to steal your idea, someone will. If they want to steal your execution, they can do it in a way that you'll lose in court. However, registering is an effective method of "time-stamping" your script so that if somone falsely or inaccurately accuses you of theft, you have proof that your version of the story existed long before their claim.

In my experience I register the first draft always, and depending on how far the script goes (or changes) I'll register the so-called "shopped" finished product.
