Okay, so if a pitch/sale of a script was pending and the script was written by a non-Guild writer - how would a possible strike effect and or what are the implications for...

1. The possible sale?
2. The non-Guild screenwriter?
3. The possible sale if the strike occurred?
4. The sale if the strike occurred?

It can only affect you if the buyer was a Guild signatory.

Thanks, Limama.

And if they are - it's a "no go?"

Yup. My understanding is a WGA Sig cannot buy during a strike. Now, they could buy from a non sig writer....but that would kill the writer's chances from ever getting into the guild.

If they really want it, they can cut you a check one day before the strike. Be it an option or a sale. Otherwise, you'll have to wait till the strike is over.

My inside source says NO STRIKE but there may not be an agreement for months.

There won't be a WGA strike in 2004.
