I've been asked by an exec to write a convincing write-up on what my script is about. the word synopsis or query (which it isn't) didn't come up.

I guess one could call it a pitch summary of the best points in the film.

my question is has anyone ever written one of these? If so, how long is this? one pager? or a seven pager broken up into respective acts?

Confused about this one.

You can always ask them to be more specific about what they want but as far as it's explained I'd treat it as a one pager. That can come in different forms. I've seen them presented as an executive summary which includes the title, logline and a 3-4 paragraph synopsis, and as one-page story outlines. If they've asked for a convincing write-up on what the film is about, lean toward a one-page story outline or a slightly fleshed out synopsis.
