Whatever happened to just setting the tabs on your computer?
Is this "software" even worth the money?:\

It's ten times easier than setting tabs, etc.
I use Movie Magic Screenwriter 2000. It keeps track of your sluglines, characters, etc. You can enter a slugline in three keystrokes - can you do that with a straight wordprocessor?
Also, they'll print to .pdf without having to buy distiller, which is good for submissions to contests and making MAC/PC friendly versions.
Overall, having used one, I can't imagine trying to muscle through doing the formatting myself. Why not use a tool designed for the job?

If you have to access multiple computers, the pdf conversion is very good because pdf perfectly preserves formatting across all platforms.
You must have the proper format in your screenplays, or else that won't be accepted. And it is easiest to it with the proper tools. Download demo versions of screenwriting software, and buy the ones you like the best.
