Legendary Pictures

Does anyone have the emails for Jon Jashni or Thomas Tull at Legendary?

The old structures (below) don't work anymore.

---1st initial last name @legendarypictures.com
---1st name . last name @warnerbros.com
---1st name . last name @wbconsultant.com

Thanks,

Ken

I know there are a lot of these threads here about various companies. But what do you guys honestly think is going to come from cold-emailing Jon Jashni or Thomas Tull? I mean, do you really think they have time to read a blind submission even if they are intrigued by an unsolicited pitch email? I don't have time to do that, and I'm far less busy than these guys.

I don't mean to be overly negative. I'm just trying to figure out what the end-game is here with tracking down Thomas Tull's email address. It's a bit like trying to email demo songs to Adele.

Re: Legendary Pictures

Keith,

I'd had reads and then phone calls about the script from top agents at the big 3, and top producers... all from cold email queries (directly from the person or their assistant).

If the logline is great, you've got a shot.

There's also the point that the company has recently severed ties with Warner Bros. So, Legendary maybe in a state of transition.

They actually partnered with Universal already (although I believe the actual partnership starts in 2014).

Re: Legendary Pictures

Look, I'm simply asking if anyone has the email address.

I've given help to others that requested info about 50 times without questions.

I've had meetings at 3 prodcos after reads from cold queries and numerous calls.

Another cold query to a huge agent at UTA resulted in him requesting it right away and asking that no one else see it, an overnight script read, and then a few phone calls. He took it into 3 big places right away, but we couldn't get any traction.

More along the lines of trying to get Scott Rudin or Donna Langley's email, I think. Anyone with a modicum of awareness about how things work will realize that pursuing this course of action is almost always pointless. But, OP wasn't asking if it was a good idea, so it's probably pointless to explain why.

I've heard rumors that these big guys actually employ others to deal with finding/developing scripts. I don't know, maybe it's just some old wive's tale. Anyway what's Bruckheimer's cell #?

Re: Legendary Pictures

Forget Bruckheimer. I want Micheal Bay's cell. I have a slightly dented air conditioner to sell him.

They are. They're still at Warner Bros, but they're leaving at the end of the year. They're shoring up the new TV division.

Two quick cents...

I have had the Presidents and/or CEOs of 5-6 good sized production companies respond to cold queries over the past two months. Typically they copy the CE on the reply for the actual submission, but if the material is good the CEs become your champion... and you and your script are already subliminally implanted in the minds of the decision makers.

The meeting we had last Friday came together based on cold queries to several producers both inside and affiliated with them.

A great query can get almost anything covered.

Best,
M

Cool.

And as to the above naysayers - Thank you for your naysaying. Such stories are all the nicer when they've been pre-naysaid.

Of course. Yes - Just because 1 or 2 cold-call e-mails do get through and find purchase (even if not a sail), that doesn't mean the odds are good that any others will. But, if merely on a cost-benefit basis, this does seem like a not-unreasonable option.

As to OP, sorry I can't help. But, break a leg, etc.

Re: Legendary Pictures

If you think that cold-emailing Thomas Tull will help your career, then go ahead. I asked a question, and I got an answer. Yes, some of you do apparently think that this is a viable path to getting Thomas Tull to read your script. Who am I to argue with unrelated anecdotal almost-success.

Why not just query people who make a point to, y'know, actually read queries?

Target reps. Specifically, managers. You'll be amazed how many email addresses they have at-the-ready. And, miraculously, they will actually contact people for you.

This is the approach. Really important to keep in mind too, when you're new, and you get a rep interested in your spec, the first thing they ask is - who's seen this? If you've been read around town and producers have already passed, what good does it do you? Focusing on reps first is a good way to go, unless you've got a solid in with a producer, meaning a person - not a query.

Unless it's Lauri's manager. Then you have to do all the work yourself.

Can I get a rimshot? Anyone?

I wish, people on here seem to have no trouble finding email addresses, and tell me "it's fine, just look them up on IMDBPro" but then I come here and don't find anything...

ricther 07-23-2015 02:24 AM

Re: Legendary Pictures

I looked them up on IMDBpro. All I got was info@legendary.com for all the staff, including the CE.
