Re: Imagine Impact Using AI to Select Candidates...

I don't believe this is the goal. They are a development group. They want to find the story, the idea, the right writer and develop the material into something they can sell based on THEIR EXTENSIVE...

Re: Abrams Artists Signs WGA CoC

https://deadline.com/2020/01/paradigm-layoffs-30-staffers-from-ranks-1202835014/

So Paradigm is saying two things: the layoff has nothing to do with the dispute with the WGA and they are not near a...

Re: The Crown

I sat down and binged season 1 this week.

It's gorgeous and, though I am NOT a lover of straight up drama, this is a very surprising series. I am fascinated with it. I love John Lithgow and Jared...

Re: Abrams Artists Signs WGA CoC

The only thing that might prevent a flood of "jumping ship," is if WME tied "contingencies" to their bonuses, like, you cannot leave within 6 months of your payout or it's forfeit.

I'm not sure...

Re: Abrams Artists Signs WGA CoC

they should, unless they want their clients going to Gersh.

wonder what the naysayers will say now?

it's gotta burn the big guys, knowing that Gersh will be able to package until two of them...

Re: Collaboration Agreement - Question!

Jeff didn't receive sole "created by" credit, he shared it with both JJ and Damon. He was fired after he wrote a pilot. The article shows how the "originator" of the idea isn't guaranteed to receive...

Re: Collaboration Agreement - Question!

You should go to the Wgaw.org and research this yourself, because understanding it will help you. You can find everything you need to know about how credit works and what you can expect IF you are...

Re: What Makes For A Good Plot Twist?

A good listen, TigerFang, and like a good plot twist-- it makes sense when you hear the reasonings behind the "magic trick."

The tips are good lessons on how to subvert and exploit a person's...

Re: Underwater

It feels like a contained thriller when reading it, which it is, but because of the setting (underwater most of the entire film), it's expensive. Yikes, it's at $2.5 million in two days--2700...

532 Scripted TV Shows for 2019

Any one know where you might find a complete listing? It would be interesting to see the genre breakdown and as well as a breakdown of serial vs procedural.

And 2020 is going to grow even greater...

Re: Abrams Artists Signs WGA CoC

umm, are you talking about Abrams? Because they signed back in November. :bounce: Or did you mean someone else, perhaps? did you mean that Gersh, Paradigm and APA? if so, that'd be a big move, no?

Re: What's the scene like now?

I do understand that they want packages. But someone, somewhere is going to have the right material that's going to turn someone on and a door will open for that person. I'm saying, all they can say...

Re: TV pilot - length issue

The only thing that I'll add is managers, more and more, want their feature writers to have a TV pilot as well.

That's not to say that a feature writer can't break into TV with a feature, they can...

Yeah, I don't see how a long pilot can be justified in the current marketplace. I'm not sure if you're going for cable or network, but if GOT, Westworld, Lost In Space, The Witcher, Chernobyl, The...

Re: This Violates Screenplay Format -- SHOWING

The delusion is amateurs "think" they are in an inferior position to professional writers. They believe pros have an advantage they do not themselves have.

The reality is simple... professional...

Re: What's the scene like now?

your choices are simple, to try or not to try contacting prodcos that have relationships with Netflix and Amazon.
