Re: Writing on Spec Question

Anecdotal but there was a biggish producer one time who tried to get me to write an idea of his. I illustrated a lot of the concerns in this thread and he literally said that if he can't sell it, I...

Re: Ghost Writing

Wow, there you go. Of course this is anecdotal but I've seen that broken. OP hope you get everything resolved! I'd find an attorney for sure, as some others have suggested.

ETA: Just realized I...

Re: Ghost Writing

You're raising a lot of great points and questions. Maybe none of that stuff was understood up front and if those terms weren't clear to the OP, that would be really unfortunate. Not sure what the...

Re: Ghost Writing

I know a rather big writer who has done it, was too strapped for time to do all his other ideas while working with a studio. I imagine he does a pass after the draft is done to make sure it mimics...

Re: Reversion Rights?

Could be wrong but I don't think these guys (who Margo is dealing with) are paying her full freight for development.

Re: Reversion Rights?

I know people that have negotiated getting them back sans payment. Just sayin. Margo you may or may not be in a position to do that, only your attorney would know. Just know that if your project...

Re: Calling all attorneys, or friends of

Two weeks is nothing, sometimes deals take months to close and lawyers take their time (frequently). Making people wait is common especially when they can expect little money from the deal, and it's...

Re: Giving a Producer a Writing Credit

I glanced at the boards this morning and had to double take this for a second, then realized it's a current thread. Welcome back man. :)

A production bonus in the couple contracts I've been fortunate enough to have and...

Ask for a production bonus too. The backend stuff is tricky.

Re: Boutiques and the big guys

Thanks Chomp, very informative. I've been with a small(er) agent when I first started but felt the opportunities were on the anemic side. But again, that 100% could have been the agent more than...

Boutiques and the big guys

I'm curious for those of you who have had experience with both, which approach suited you better and why? Did you feel lost in the shuffle at a bigger agency, or that your boutique didn't have...

Re: Yet another Black List ask Franklin anything

Not to derail this thread but a quick question - does your current manager have access/ relationships with agents and if so, are they sending your work to them?

Also, was your current manager...

Re: Writing character in Action
