Re: It's been a while

I know which teachers I hated the most but I dunno if they felt anything for me except "ugh I've stepped in dog sh!t" contempt. Mostly they were exhausted from Mark's sexing them.

Re: Can brief, inconsequential dialogue be put into action?

Beginner's luck!

Given the era, I'd say there's a high possibility that's a transcript, someone else retyped it.

Re: The Last 10 Days

HMMM. No screenwriting, as such (for a long time, not just the last 10 days). Added words to three prose stories, one Sci-Fi, two paranormals, I thought they'd be done around 30k words or...

Re: Do people know the circumstances of the Mary Celeste?

Huh, I just noticed this, I guess some tales get forgotten about, this legend was well known to everyone and their dog when I was younger. The ship found abandoned in calm waters, food still on the...

Re: Newman

That does sound interesting, albeit scientifically far-fetched, but hands up those who are disappointed this wasn't a Seinfeld spin-off. You'd think the producers might have taken this into account...

Re: Question about WriterSolo

Since we're name-checking other screenwriting programs, I've used Movie Magic Screenwriter (http://www.screenplay.com/) for over a decade, it's super excellent.

I switched to a new laptop in January...

Re: Thought on scripts being stolen and used?

Super tale. But how annoying is that?! Everyone else in the room didn't shout, "HEY THAT WAS JS90'S PITCH!" -- or at least look at you and raise their eyebrows to say WTF?

Re: Thought on scripts being stolen and used?

I used to register my scripts with WGAW (https://www.wgawregistry.org/registration.asp) before I had a dazzling epiphany moment, realizing no one in the business would ever want to steal 'em.

A...

Re: Sci-Fi clichés

Anything with amnesia, or MC not knowing what they really are, cue big dramatic reveal that deflates like a balloon. "For you see, you are a princess of the royal blood. And also a battle robot."

Re: Formatting questions with regards to minor characters

I'd at least define them by their jobs, MESSAGE BOY #1 and MESSAGE BOY #2 -- that way we don't need big explanations, let their names do the work.

MESSAGE BOY #1 runs in, touches a finger to his...

Re: 2 characters, same location, parallel universe logline help please.

How about saying it in the scene headings? And/or can you focus on something that would tell us they're same but different? Total brain fart:

Re: A Christmas contest, perhaps.

So that's a no then. :D

Consider writing an 8-page "B" story you didn't use in your full length screenplay!

A Christmas contest, perhaps [washout]

Pretty much a shot in the dark, but show of hands if you might be interested.

Last year's contest (http://messageboard.donedealpro.com/boards/showthread.php?t=84176) was a washout, will 2019, an odd...

Re: October 2019 Contest + results

Yeah maybe not everybody's cup of tea, the alternative was suggested if that didn't suit, write something Halloween or horror themed instead, que sera maybe next time.

Re: October 2019 Contest + results

I figured including a good-looking widow-woman with good legs busting a chair over a clown's back had to get a vote or two.

So noted! If their being real matters then BASED ON ACTUAL PERSONS at the top might not have gone amiss. Not sure if that changes my thoughts on the repetitive use of their full names, though?

I...
