Re: HBO Launches Fellowship

"...look how they treat women. And people of color."

In a fellowship to provide access to women and minorities, HBO discriminated against another protected class in requiring date of birth. The...

Re: Anyone else apply for the Writers Lab "women over 40" retreat?

Couldn't agree more. Let the writing speak for itself in finding Hollywood's fresh, new voices. Keep it fair or don't run it. Don't insult entrants. A $55 entry fee isn't small change for many women.

Re: HBO Launches Fellowship

I'm not familiar with the Nicholl submission process. Their fellowship may not be a training program or an apprenticeship such as the HBO fellowship is so as to be covered by EEO laws (Nicholl...

Re: Anyone else apply for the Writers Lab "women over 40" retreat?

Re: HBO Launches Fellowship

Re: Anyone else apply for the Writers Lab "women over 40" retreat?

Lauri, nowhere did it say women entering had to be WGA members, but if it turns out that most of the winners (and finalists) are union members, having the union judge any part of the contest where...

Re: HBO Launches Fellowship

Don't wager too much, Joe Banks. HBO violated federal and state employment law in asking entrant's date of birth on the Withoutbox entry. They could have asked entrants if they were of legal age; not...

Re: Anyone else apply for the Writers Lab "women over 40" retreat?
