Re: Force de Majeure

I haven't heard from the Producer in about five months and they've had two years to shop it, so blaming Corona and using it as an excuse doesn't really cut it. My writing partner wants to just go...

Producers, Development Execs, etc

This is solely my experience. Take it for what it's worth. I'm just chasing the dream like everyone else.

But finding someone who likes your script is hard. Finding someone who LOVES your script as...

Re: Script based on true current events?

You'd have to get the rights from the author if you were basing the script on this article.

Re: "Is it Financed?"

When I first started writing I would often query a writer's production company or even an agent. What I found is that you look like an amateur doing this. Get a solid manager and have him/her do the...

Re: The waiting is the hardest part...

Anyone who quotes Tom Petty is ok by me. We have a producer who has sent our script out a A list director. They went to school together. He's promised to read and get back to her within 2 weeks. Time...

Re: Agent, Manager, Or Both??

People in Hollywood look at projects/scripts differently when they come from a manager and not a writer. There's a perception that if you don't have a manager that you're not good enough and you...

Re: Lee Stobby (Lee Stobby Entertainment)

I will share my Lee Stobby experience. I queried him on Virtualpitchfest. BTW... I don't think it's a money grab. I've made quite a few good relationships from that site

Lee requested mine and my...

Re: Looking for a mature business relationship

Re: Development Services

I've been working with Cyfress for a few weeks now and he really goes above and beyond. He's helping me think a lot more about the story and the characters. Most services will have you write a script...

Re: Scriptapalooza contest 2017

Made it to the semi-finals but we already optioned the script. Sh*ts and giggles I guess.

Re: Producer's job or mine?

People lose a lot of their rights when they're dead... unfortunately it's the way the law reads. You just can't write or state facts that you know to be untrue. For example, you can't say that...
