Re: Greatest networking opportunity in history

There were people at the showrunners picket Wednesday who weren't showrunners, but were showing support for the WGA while trying to chat up showrunners.

Re: What to Wear to Meeting?

A dress?

Sure, you can wear one. But it certainly isn't expected.

Hmmm. None.

My outfits for meetings are often a good...

Re: The State of TV ... Correct Me If I'm Wrong

Re: Should I send script to actress home address???

Sending unsolicited scripts to actors is considered, by the LAPD's Threat Assessment Unit (the stalker specialists), to be a sign of possible stalking behavior.

And you notice that I didn't say...

Re: How many writers from this board have been optioned?

Dear people, in all the fuss about Taotropics work record, please don't miss the very important piece of advice he offered at the very end...

...about options.

Re: Writing vs Construction

Wait, somebody said screenwriting is mathematics?

That's kinda funny.

Not really true, either.

At least not mathematics as I understand it. And I gotta tell ya, I got a pretty good perspective.

Re: Spec/new writer implications of a strike?

Wonder what happened to the "co" part.

Re: How many writers from this board have been optioned?

Why the emphasis on being optioned?

Sales and assignments are probably what most working professionals talk about when they talk about how they make money.

Options seem to hold a strange...

Re: Spec/new writer implications of a strike?

The weird thing is -- I'm not sure what word I was trying for in the first place. So I put in "parties."

Re: Spec/new writer implications of a strike?

Understand -- non-WGA writers are actually free to sell projects to non-signatory companies. Even during a strike. The world of moviemaking that takes place outside of the WGA goes on during a...

Those of us who are in a position to help people make meaningful contacts -- never accept them.

Agents and managers are in that business.

Re: What To Do?

Maybe the firm is A-list, but their work with you hasn't been.

If I were you, I'd be actively looking for new reps. I'd stay with this firm until I had either a new agent, or a new manager. Or...

I think one other poster alluded to this, too --
