Re: Amazon Studios

They optioned one of my screenplays through the open policy in 2012. Then again in 2014. Halfway through the second option they seemed to have lost interest in my project. Also, they stopped...

Re: Pay for a co-writer?

What does it say in your agreement? I've had one for everything I've written with another person. You can find them on this site.

Re: 2018 NYTVF Scripts

Has anyone heard of this contest? I thought they were connected to a NY Fox TV affiliate in the past.

2018 NYTVF Scripts

Is this contest considered good? Does it carry any weight in the television industry?

Thanks,

Re: Amazon Studios 45 days - Still evaluating?

They looked at something of mine for 50 days, and another script for like 2 days. So who really knows how they do stuff.

Re: Agent Question

No, that's the part that I'm confused about; I have a few other scripts, but he doesn't not want to read them. Only wants to push the old script.

Turnaround cost, fee is what the old producer said...

Re: The intersection of producers, writers, and agents--finding my career path

You would have no problem finding dozens of good, bad and in between writers to hire.

Re: Scott Carr Management SGC

He read something of mine in the past for free. Maybe he tells people he charges so they don't fill up his in box or bug him constantly?

Re: Agent Question

Hey, Northbank. Yeah, I was paid to rewrite it. That was the amount. I'm going to bottom line it with the agent. Find out why he's doing things this way.

Re: Agent Question

Thanks everyone, The producer that optioned that script told me that it has a turnaround fee of 25 thousand. The more I speak with my agent the more I get the sense he does not do TV. And he would...

Iíve had managers in the past, but this is my first agent. Also, all the paid work Iíve ever done I found on my own. Most of it has not been union.

Re: Having problems

I didn't start screenwriting until I was 35. I've had some ups-and-downs in the past 10 years, but I've enjoyed most of it.

Re: Is it feasible to offer a re-write to manager

I've made the mistake of writing someone back and asking them to read the next version of a script I've already sent to them. It was a bad idea, and it never worked out well,

Re: Amazon Studios 45 days - Still evaluating?

I think they're done taking stuff from the general public. I had one of their original options in 2012. I sent them a similar script through the site last year, and they shot me down in a few days....

Re: Asking for a referral

Cool thanks. I've had 3 managers, but none of them found me any of the paid work I've done. So maybe it's not as important as I was lead to believe.
