Re: Book option

She's passed away and there doesn't seem to be an estate. She even said in an article that she wanted her story told! It's never happened. She'd be tickled pink. I need to write this.

I'm leaning...

Re: Book option

I think you're right and that's what I'm leaning toward. Only one book written on this super pivotal and massively influential person is super crazy to me. There's plenty of articles and Youtube...

Pilot submission

I met a showrunner who is letting submit a spec/pilot. I wrote a pilot 10 years ago for someone else. I never got paid for writing it. The pilot is right up the alley of the show and it reads very...

Have you ever asked your manager to hire you?

This may be a strange question, but I wrote a script and am waiting for feedback from my manager. I really think it could sell because it's something that hasn't been done yet. When I pitched him the...

IMDB Pro code

Does anybody have a working promo code for imdb pro? Trying to renew and with their site revamp previous codes no longer work. The codes from various coupon sites don't work either.

You can PM me if...

Re: What's The Point Of It All?

Thanks.

Two years ago I wrote a script that I absolutely loved writing. I cold queried somewhere around 50 managers, got about 15 requests and signed with who I think is the best manager out...

Re: Breaking up a long scene

I'm thinking I don't anymore. I'm just working on nuancing.

Honestly, all the times I read it it didn't read long. It only became an issue when I thought, "hey, this is 10 pages! Is that too long,"...

Re: Breaking up a long scene

I like that.

Maybe that's why it doesn't feel or seem too long when reading it because there are definite cutaways with a lot of back and forth and stuff going on.

It's not like it's just a static...

Re: Breaking up a long scene

Comic, it's like you just said, "Go with what feels right." Will do just that if no other solution else feels organic.

Re: Breaking up a long scene

They're interrogating a witness after a big bust. It happens outside and the whole scene tells exactly who the characters are and sets up how they interact throughout the entire script.

I was...

Breaking up a long scene

It's a comedy and one scene is 10 pages long.

As is, it reads quick and I think hilarious as one continuous scene, but part of me is thinking I have to break it up (even though, honestly I kinda...

Re: What's The Point Of It All?

After 15 years I finally got my first "real" check last week. Those years weren't a waste.

If you believe, hang in there. Write a story about a character that you love. Seriously and you will get...

Re: Live Read/LA

I didn't win but I was a finalist twice with two different scripts. The contest seems to be run pretty well. When they gave dates for notifications, they were always on it.

Re: How long do you wait for feeback

Thanks, Ron. I'll sit tight for a couple of weekends. :)

Waiting several months for feedback seems rather extreme.

How long do you wait for feeback

Typically when you submit to your rep? This is our first script 'together' so I'm not sure what to expect.

Re: Assignments/ Black List

Everything that Ed and Ham are saying is pretty much my experience.

I was signed last month based on a period script. The original plan was to go tactical, then wide with it.

We're holding off...

Re: Atlanta

Episode 7 was spectacular. You're not sure what's the actually show and what isn't. Episode 6 was great, too. The writing was so on point.
