Re: Intercutting two scenes

Hi Travis, I don't think there's anything inherently wrong with intercutting two scenes in different timelines. There just has to be a clear connection between them.

For example, a girl in a late...

Re: Shaving pages

There's been some good replies in the thread.

Re: Your Favorite Video Game, Story-Wise (and why)

Definitely my favorites are:

1) Bioshock
2) Uncharted
3) Half life

There's so many, but those are the ones that come to mind when I think of storylines that I loved.

Re: "Dog days of Summer" contest

Hey guys, wanted to say that I don't always participate, but it's great how you keep the contest section going. I'm in for this one. My only question is, does it have to feature a dog? ;)

Re: A good script vs. a sellable script

It's so great to read JeffLowell on DDP again. It's like a thread of sanity cutting through everything.

Re: Working on Two Computers

Celtx - you download the software on both computers, your scripts get saved to the cloud and are up to date on both computers. Of course you're not dependent on the cloud, you can make local backups...

Re: Better call Saul

It's fantastic! Surpassed every hope I had and then some.

I feel it's got the potential to be as good as Breaking Bad, maybe even better.

Re: Fellowships & Script Competitions

Check their rules and FAQ pages, the Fellowships usually clarify that question there.

Re: Done Deal Pro 10th Anniversary & Subscription Drive

I could say that I'm doing this just to help pay back DDP for all the incredible and valuable advice I've gained over the years.

But I also believe it's a great service that's going to help me...

Re: FLASHBACKS- In or out?

Personally I would include the word Flashback and even End Flashback at the end. I like the clarity. Doesn't mean there aren't other ways to do it.

Re: Wolf Hall

I like it a lot, mostly because I love that kind of thing. But it does have a few issues, namely that, like you said, it's too disjointed.

I feel like if I didn't have a general knowledge of that...

Re: Think I have a great script, yet am business illiterate

Hi Jimmy. My advice is change the logline. It's too coy, you're not revealing enough of the plot.

If that's because you're posting it here and want to keep it secret, I understand but you need to...

Re: Is Variety’s Melissa McCarthy cover sexist? Washington Post says...

But... I mean.... come on.

It's not a porn movie (or a fashion show).

If the role requires a beautiful person that's fine and great, but I don't prejudge a movie based on the actor or actress's...

I really want to love this show.

But everything about it except Jamal and his wife annoys me.
