Re: Character Names in the new melting pot

Ethnic names and/or corresponding nick names can be easy to pronounce and memorable. No need to pile on tongue-convulsing syllables. :)

Re: This is really depressing (but not unexpected)....

Okay, I'll back off. Don't want more heads to explode or sensibilities to be scarred for life. :D

I'll just leave you with standard publishing clauses so you can see where I'm coming from.

Re: This is really depressing (but not unexpected)....

Great. Interpret the clause being discussed.

Does the writer benefit, as a percentage of sales or from any other revenue other than 5% of licensing rights paid to the manufactuerer?

Writer compensation is not tied into the profits of product manufacturing, sales volume or any...

Thanks!

Hey, if you're happy...

Re: This is really depressing (but not unexpected)....

The original novelists never lost their rights even after getting paid.

Re: This is really depressing (but not unexpected)....

Re: This is really depressing (but not unexpected)....

Exactly. The underlying problem is:

The writer of the original work should not lose copyright ownership. Why give away rights to one's story simply because of format? It's an original literary work...

Re: What is Voice?
