Re: The Peanut Butter Falcon

Saw this last night. Been doing the redbox thing some when taking a break from writing during coronavirus shut in.

I thought it a nice "feel good" film. I am quite pleased by the maturing of Shia...

Re: Effect of the Coronavirus

Mostly calm here too in Colorado. I have asthma as well so I have been taking advantage of the "order online and pick up outside" service at the grocery store. Less interaction with people that way....

Re: Max Von Sydow

"Klytus...I'm bored..." Greatest line Max did in Flash Gordon.

RIP Max. You shall be missed. Thank you for all the years.

Re: Effect of the Coronavirus

Just saw mandatory movie theater closings in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Maryland. I have a relative that is a gen. mgr. of a theater in Virginia and they are closing theirs along with...

Re: The Call of The Wild

Let us know how it goes. I hope it's better than the trailer makes it look.

Especially the dog. Yes, dogs have eyebrows and can move them to mimic a little expression, but nothing like the...

Re: Peeves

Bad cgi

long rambling dialog that over-explains

flashbacks that are overused and/or put in for no reason

random nudity thrown in to make up for writing a bad story/bad directing

writing that...

Re: The Gentlemen

I wanted to add to my earlier post. I honestly thought the Gritchie beer brand in the film was fake. But after looking it up I found it's a real thing.

Guy Ritchie loves beer so much he opened his...

Re: The Gentlemen

Saw this last night. I thought it was a well written, ingenious film. I don't usually go into heavy dialog films, and Guy Ritchie is known for it, but this was phenom.

All the players did a great...

Re: Jojo Rabbit

I was pleasantly surprised at how good this film is. I definitely was not expecting the heart wrenching gut punch to the feels though.

Highly recommend!

So it seems each decade we get a deep sea, "hey we are stuck under the water and something weird is happening" film. (Leviathan 1989, Deepstar six 1989, Abyss 1989, Sphere 1998, 47 Meters Down 2017...

Re: Little Women

Although I enjoyed this most recent version, I was underwhelmed.

I have seen many feature film versions of this beloved story (my fav was the 1949 version with June Allyson, Elizabeth Taylor, Janet...

Re: Mandalorian...oh no he didn't!!

Each to his own, but I would recommend watching the season finale if nothing else. It is directed by Taika Waititi and his style is all thru it.

I will admit some episodes are not near as good as...

Re: Bad behavior at movie theaters

I have experienced similar to what the previous posters did. Rude people on phones during the film, people reading texts, etc.

Once I saw a woman who came out of her film saying very loudly that...

I would suggest a gift based on the depth of your working relationship. In other words, if you are close friends and you know what that person's interests are then you can gear the gift towards...

Thank you for posting your logline/synopsis and asking the board for assistance. You have been given lots of good advice from others here so I will not rehash what they have suggested. I...

I immensely enjoyed this film. I was rooted to my seat the whole time. Even though I figured out the twist early on it did not detract from my liking this movie.

The production design is off the...

Re: Once Upon a Hollywood

I enjoyed this one very much. I am what I call a 50% Tarantino fan, meaning I like only about half of his films.

I agree with other posters here about the slow pace during the first 2/3 of this...

Re: RIP Rutger Hauer

A very underrated actor. I loved his performances is every film of his that I have seen.

My favorite though is Blind Fury. Nice to see him as the good guy in this film.

He shall be missed.

Re: Toy Story 4

I thought this one was pretty good. Very bittersweet and yes I admit I teared up a bit. So if you have followed the stories in this series of films, be sure to bring tissues to this one. It doesn't...

Mr. Wick 3

Saw this one last night with hubby. I must say it was a lot of fun and in my opinion, the best of the 3.

I honestly can't remember much about 2, but I remember not liking it as much as 1 and 1 was...
