Re: El Camino - anyone else underwhelmed?

I don't disagree with any of this except the duel bit. I liked it and thought it fit the tone of the show.

Re: Is your script ready for the outside world? Let us help.

A good choice if you want to see literally every character name in your script wrong when you get the coverage back. Some of the things the reader told me were baffling (one of my lead characters was...

Re: At what point do you usually move on to the next script?

Took your advice on this. They did end up giving me a free month and a free eval. Came back as a 7 as well (though perhaps it's a conspiracy and they forced the reader to give me that score to keep...

Re: Exits and Promotions @ ICM

Re: At what point do you usually move on to the next script?

I already wiped it clean off the site. I did send an email and they sent one back but by that point I'd already said **** it. Maybe I'll shoot them an email and see if they can bring it back somehow...

Re: At what point do you usually move on to the next script?

They sent me an email for a discounted read. Ha. **** that.

Thank you for that post. Great advice. Thanks to everyone else as well. Somewhere down the road when I'm better I'll pay it forward as...

Re: At what point do you usually move on to the next script?

Bono- Thank you. I enjoyed Con Air too (haha) and I like those kinds of movies. I tried my best to make the story good and incorporate themes that I feel are important (the main one is something...

Re: At what point do you usually move on to the next script?

Thanks man. I thought about it and I probably could get a free eval (there are multiple factual errors-not making excuses either. Nevermind execution). I just dumped it from the BL though. I'm not...

Re: At what point do you usually move on to the next script?

Thanks Gucci. It'll be a lot of work for sure. I know a couple of things to change but I'll have to put more thought into it. I had just made some big changes and thought they helped but BL peeps...

Re: Where do you like to write?

Home PC for me as well. I always listen to a Boards of Canada or Aphex Twin playlist or Pandora station as well.

Re: At what point do you usually move on to the next script?

In case anyone was thinking it I'll admit I am insecure and deep down probably wanted the whole "it'll be ok" type thing. I know that's not a good thing either. I was told by a shrink a while back...

Re: At what point do you usually move on to the next script?

"Thanks for sending. Unfortunately, this one isnít for me. Too violent and by-the-numbers. Iím looking for more elevated genre material. Best of luck with it."

"Hey bud,

Read and wasn't quite...

Re: At what point do you usually move on to the next script?

I exaggerated a bit with the exception of the BL review. Maybe a little dramatic haha. I'll post them just give me a sec.

Re: At what point do you usually move on to the next script?

Lol. It makes sense and it's a great response. I finished it at the end of 2017. It's the one that got me the meeting but all the query people that got back to me passed. They were polite but most...

At what point do you usually move on to the next script?

I've written two scripts. I cleaned up my first a bit and then moved on. I came back to it this year, however, after finishing the 2nd. I was told to develop it more because it had potential. I put...

Re: Do you have any show recommendations?

I just finished Dark Crystal on Netflix and enjoyed it. It's definitely corny at parts but I think any fantasy fan would like it.

Re: Optimism: This is the best time ever to be a screenwriter

I may be wrong but I feel like it will be a good time for original ideas in the near future. I think a lot of these "foolproof" IP movie ideas will start losing money because people are getting bored.

Re: Meeting with Manager via BL

Lol. I took it more as saying "keep me updated on future ideas because we're not going forward with what you got". The "we'll be in touch" afterward was what gave me a glimmer of hope. I thought...

Re: Meeting with Manager via BL

That will be bad ass if you do.

He said to shoot him some loglines, gave me a card, etc. As I was walking out he said he'd be in touch. We will see but I hope so. Based on the vibe I've gotten with...

Re: Meeting with Manager via BL

Haha. That would be funny enough to make it worth trying. If I had more nuts I'd do it. And thank you. If I don't hear anything this week I'll consider it dead. A good first step in any case.
