Re: Blacklist's "Scriptbook"

This sounds similar to something I wrote about a few years ago:

"When Variety reported on July 22 that...

Re: Slugline for an open-top jeep?

Thanks for all of the answers... I think. :)

To clarify, we're looking at a number of people in a jeep, and the camera will switch from one face to another as they speak. So at least some of the...

Slugline for an open-top jeep?

What slug would you use for people riding around in an open-top military jeep? (Same issue for convertible car etc.)

They're IN the vehicle, but it's not an enclosed space.

INT. JEEP?

EXT....

Re: La La Land

I adored it and admired it and it made me cry. And I'm usually a hard case when it comes to "sentimental" movies.

What was the original ending?

And does anyone have a link to the original script?

Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

By "sermonizing," I mean that a script takes a theme (hope, love, whatever) and has characters give multiple SPEECHES about that theme.

It's OK (in fact, somewhat expected) to have ONE speech...

Re: Passengers

I agree with the points made by both nmstevens and Bitter Script Reader.

Overall, I enjoyed the movie, despite its flaws.

1. I thought the premise was interesting. OF COURSE our hero does...

Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

I think there's TONS of overt sermonizing in R1 -- but it's not about diversity, it's about "hope."

I don't have anything against hope. I do object to dialogue that consists almost entirely of...

Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

Interesting... Of course, there weren't any women involved in creating Leia.

Leigh Bracket (female) only came in for Empire.

I thought all the characters were flat as copier paper... not just Jyn....

Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

Given that women and minorities are still grossly under-represented in Hollywood films, I'm not only fine with that, I applaud it. It's not like they're going to stop making movies with white male...

Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

Interesting... how you felt about Rogue, I felt about TFA.

So what makes us enjoy something "despite the script," versus when is the script so bad (in our opinions) that we can't enjoy the...

Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

I saw the villain in Guardians as kind of a commentary on cliche comic book villains. He was a straight-faced parody of a villain -- because the story wasn't ABOUT heroes vs. villains. Part of the...

Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

Saw it last night. IMAX 3D. Loathed it. IMHO, it was devoid of originality, intelligence, wit, style, charm, excitement, and heart.

And I loved The Force Awakens.

I don't get why people are...

Re: The Definitive Final Word On The Blacklist 3.0

it's close to that now. There are only about a dozen reported spec sales per year from previously unsold writers.

Re: The Definitive Final Word On The Blacklist 3.0

I'm increasingly skeptical of VPF and wonder how many pro members use it just as a modest source of income but have no intention of actually reading any scripts that come in via that channel. (They...
