  • "The A-Team" Headed for the Big Screen

After "Starsky & Hutch", "Bewitched" and "The Dukes of Hazzard", my only question is: WHY?

Re: "The A-Team" Headed for the Big Screen

Tone of the film will be less cartoony and more serious, in the vein of "Die Hard" and "Lethal Weapon."
That's selling it to me right there... although it had an interesting premise, the TV show was too PG for my then-teenaged tastes. And I think Singleton can pull off the balance needed.

Now comes the speculation as to the cast...

I got a little bit of inside scoop on this project...but unfortunately cannot share any more details til things are more official.

I will say this.. I've read the script and it's pretty damn good.

That'd be a first for this kind of project.

I assume you are joking -- but I can confirm that the role of Mr. T has already been casted, and it's not a woman.

I'd put my money on the ubiquitous Ving. With Clooney, Pitt and Damon.

Screw it, just put Bernie Mac or Don Cheadle in there and make it an Ocean's reunion.

                        Who should they cast?

Well, BA Baracus should go to Mr. T, he's iconic in the role, damn it! But if not, I can see Ving Rhames or Micheal Clarke Duncan in the role.

                        George Clooney as Hannibal...

                        Brad Pitt as Faceman...

And... Believe it or not, I think Jim Carrey would make a stellar Murdock.

Madmartigan: "Your leg... I'd like to break it."

I would love it if they didn't go with the most obvious people in those roles.

And yeah, BA should definitely go to T. He's still bulked up, right?

Which script is that? The Feirstein take? Is that the latest? Seems there have been so many over the years, and Feirstein was hired for the gig a long time ago. Has anyone else had a crack at it since then?

The latest draft as written by Michael Brandt and Derek Haas. And before them was a draft by Lawrence Konner and Mark Rosenthal. The current draft, the one I read, has all four names on the title page, dated Oct. 31, 2007.
