  • Re: Will you consider rating my blcklst hosted script?

Everybody posting links to their Blacklist Scripts and asking for feedback....is it just me? I go to the link but can't download the script or look at it, so I'm seeing the logline, which was what I just read on the forum, so....I mean...what kind of feedback are people looking for? Feedback on their logline? Or can all of youse guys see their actual scripts but I, due to years of dumbassedness, cannot.

Please unravel these mysteries for me!

    Peace Out

Folks are posting their links in hopes that an industry person reads the post and if interested, would download the script and give it a rating.

If you're not an industry member of the BL, you won't be able to download anyone else's scripts.

Here's my go - just posted my script "Found on Fuji" on The Blacklist.

Found on Fuji: A young American in Japan deals with his conflicted feelings for a visiting love interest while grappling with her mental distance and recurring illness.

Just wanted to pop back in and say that The Abominable, which I posted at the top of the page, just got an 8.

              THE FINAL DROP

Logline: A hard-up courier battles traffic, a city full of protesters and the police after he's blackmailed into making an unusual drop - a mysterious teenage girl intent on killing an election candidate.

              Genre: Action/Thriller
Well, I think this script's adventure on the BL may be over. Two paid reviews - a 6 and a 5 have sunk my battleship.

The latest review (5) cited too much action. I guess that's what I get for trying to make the trailer guy/gal's job easier.

On the plus side, both mentioned a quick and easy read and good action description, so hopefully I'm heading in the right direction in terms of craft.

I've send out a few cold queries and had a couple of read requests so I think the kernel of a good idea is there. I'll put this in the drawer and perhaps revisit once I've got a couple more scripts under my belt.

Just got back our second review, with a 6. The first was an 8, so we still made it onto the Top List.

If nothing else, it's a great example of how subjective reading really is. For example, the first reviewer gave dialog a 9, the second reviewer gave a 6. Things that first reviewer thought were small problems or not problems at all, second thought were deal breakers. Neither reviewer is wrong, in my opinion. Just shows that this script, like any other, will have its advocates and its detractors. Just like movies.

This thread has a whole lot more meaning now that writers have the option to allow other writers to download their scripts (or request to download their scripts).

Kudos to the Blacklist for adding this feature.

Indeed...feel free to take a look at The Final Drop if it floats your boat (an open invite).

                        https://blcklst.com/members/scripts/view/5043

                        The Fisherman

An American woman goes in search of her family history to a small Irish village in the west of the Ireland and clashes with her only neighbor, a bitter ex-convict who spent years in jail for an IRA murder he didn't commit, and who has now inherited her grandfather's tumble-down cottage and all its contents.

                          Hey everyone, this my script:

                          Title: HUNTED

Logline: A haunted man with nothing to lose, goes up against an international human-trafficking cartel to save a little girl, so that she may save him back.

I have no downloads or ratings yet. My script passed to the second round of the Austin film festival screenplay competition.

What do you guys think about the logline? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

                          Thanks

Needs more detail. Who is the protag? An ex-cop? Why is he haunted?

More importanly, why go to so much trouble for this girl?

Ok you got a point there, it needs a little more information:

Bobby is a repairman. His life is falling part and the only thing that’s keeping him together is the Job. He stumbles on a safe house for an international human trafficking network. The absolute horror and the enormous size of the pedophile material drives him to seek revenge for all those lost children. He has found a new mission in life, one that has meaning. Things get very dangerous when he decides to save a little girl from kidnapping.

                              How about this one?
