  • Valentine's Day short script contest, voting deadine Feb 14th

Soooooo, anyone up for a V.D. contest this year?!

Good practice for writing romcom scripts, maybe. Or any other genre/theme that comes to mind when you think about Valentine's Day.

Tentative deadline would be 7th February so there's a week left for reading and voting, leading up to results being posted around the 14th. That's a month to write 8 pages (max. length, no min.) which should be pretty do-able for most.

    Reply here if you're interested!

Edit: and 5 members were, read the entries here.

For posterity, the results thread is here.

Just FYI and possibly reading pleasure, links to previous V.D. contests:
    2014 - 10 entries | results
    2013 - 11 entries | results
2012 - flopped due to lack of entries
    2011 entries - 5 entries | results

I've been away for a long while, but I'd like to try to cook something up..

Wow, blast from the past. I had forgotten I had done this comp in 2011. I got to find this short and do a rewrite. It must be somewhere in my hard drive...

I would have said, if enough folks show interest and the contest actually runs: export to PDF and email this to me. I'll post the entries anonymously (author names removed).

Woot, looks like we might have a quorum.

Obviously I would say to anyone who's intending to enter, feel free to start writing now.

I've got 3 pages so far and a semblance of a story, so you can definitely count me in.

Astonishingly, I seem to have written mine, I'm usually a very-last-second seat-of-the-pants kamikaze pilot (as poor vote results have often demonstrated).

Hope y'all are having fun writing yours! Still two and a half weeks till deadline.

Best of luck, would have liked to have been involved but life has intervened and too little time at present.
Best of luck with this this one folks, may dip in if I have time.

I'm finished and satisfied with mine. Derek, could you post your email again? Thanks.

                              EDIT: I found the email.
