Risk and Ouija to be major motion pictures? Wow... didn't see that coming
Sounds like film school needs to include a course featuring a field trip to Toys R Us with the hope of generating that next great idea. What confuses me is that with a young child I have gone to T-R-Us pretty often (considered direct depositing my paycheck) and while video games and action figures usually attract a big crowd, board games are always a ghost town. My only question at this point is, 'is checkers out of copyright?' I'm thinking franchise here. |

To be fair, if done right, I think Ouija could be cool.
But Risk? Viewmaster? Maybe someone's thinking Jumanji. Didn't someone buy "Life" as well? They could do that one in claymation to stay true to the little pink and blue sticks riding in the cars. Personally, I'm holding out for Connect 4 -- 3-D. |

you're right Ouija could be cool. I think it's just the concept - raiding the toy aisle to make movies when there are so many good original scripts out there; but in a way these are original ideas too, I suppose.
But I guess as long as there are cross marketing opportuities and as long as films like GI Joe and Transformers continue to bring in the crowds, then there will be a niche... one huge niche. |

All anyone really wants to see is the Monopoly movie anyway.

Does George Lucas have the rights to make Star Wars Monolopy?
I bet he does. |
