Default Really... *really* stupid question!

Really stupid question here that I'm super embarrassed to ask but if you query a Producer and say your agent can forward them a copy and they bite and request your agent to email them a pdf-

Does your agent actually attach some type of form letter on agency letterhead or a release in addition to your script or is it simply a "Yo, here it is... attached." short email type of thing.

Anyone know?

Is your agent too stupid to know?

Well, it must be pretty top secret stuff.

Nobody on this board seems to know.

I think what JimJim was colorfully trying to say was: Just ask your agent.

How they approach the producer will entirely depend on what (if any) kind of relationship they have with said producer.

If they've never met, it might be more formal. If they're old buddies from the Endeavor mail room who've kept in touch, it could just be quick and to the point.

If they're Eskimo Brothers, then it could be bad news for you... Or good... Depending...

If nothing else, this thread has shattered the adage that there are no stupid questions.

Yeah...that sounds suspicious. I think the OP doesn't have an agent and wants to figure out how they can get away with pretending to be an agent to submit their own script. Or maybe not.

Here's a fun story about Terence Winter posing as his own agent when he first moved to Hollywood. It's a long interview mostly about Boardwalk Empire. But about 2/3's into it he talks about posing as his own agent as well as the messenger delivering his scripts! (pre-e-mail days).

I'm sold. I'm becoming my own manager. I already have a very cool name that sounds legit. And will think of a cool management company that sounds legit.

I'm checking out voice disguisers as we speak.
