On Trying Again....

New to the site.

I've been writing for years on the side. Started out screenwriting with just enoughsuccess to validate my intentions but not nearly enough to make a life outof. I then switched to novels - the sameresult. Love telling tales. I've worked in a unrelated field all during,but would now like to really make a push. Kids are older. Have a buddingpension built.

Thinking screenplays again, but have lost many of my old connections and routes.

Any thoughts....

My validation came from an early option deal after only afew years experimenting with the screenplay form. As for publishing, my very first book was picked up, albeit from a small publisher. In any event, true validation, I guess, comes from one's self - and ithas.

My "abandonment" of this thread came from thequick combination of cynicism, suspicion, and quantifications that spilledforth in lieu of understanding, insight and wisdom.

It's banter like this that reminds me why I've always stayedclear of sites like these. With thatsaid, I did receive some quietly supportive private messages from a few membershere. So I guess I'll just have to bemore selective in the future.
