Default Parallel Development?

Last year I pitched an idea to an exec at one of the predominant prod. co's. He liked the pitch. I sent him the script, then got the "Thanks, no thanks."

Two days ago, the prod co. bought a pitch with the same concept (same title too) as what I had written.

Since they only bought a pitch, and weren't developing in house and bringing in a writer, do I have to chalk this up as a horrible, horrible coincidence?

In desperate need of rational thought.
