I'm not sure if we should continue one giant LOST thread throughout the season, or start a new one for each episode, but...here it is.
*SPOILERS* (Obviously) I found this episode to be completely pointless and lacking any sort of event or beat in the storyline. Sayid wakes up. Gets burned by hot poker. Jack asks questions. Gets no answers (except that amazingly enough, a baseball is in fact a baseball). Jack takes pill. Jack spits pill out. LOST The flash sideways are such a dam momentum killer. These are currently very weak. I hope they somehow pick up steam. As of now, I don't care about that timeline. They are nothing more than time taken away from the stuff I do care about. I understand it's the calm before the storm. Hoping it's a hell of a typhoon.

I agree about the whole temple narrative advancing absolutely nothing at this piont. But I d0on't mind the alternate timeline stuff. I like being reminded that these characters that we have come to embrace were all once, by and large, completely unlikable.

It also makes discussing the entire season at once possible.

Lost is on Season 6 now? I heard people talking about it 4 years ago... I think. What's it about?

Yeah, uhm, there's no way to describe this show past the pilot episode if you don't want to be epically spoiled. It's honestly indescribable.

Yeah - I am serious. All of the popular shows everyone talks about, I wonder why people are so obsessed with them. Just from a Sociologist's perspective.

people get obsessed with tv shows that are true serials as opposed to one with stand alone episodes. each episode has a cliffhanger and holds your interest until the next episode. missing one episode will crush you. so you have to watch. you have to know. you have to... you have to... you have to...
24, prison break, heroes, dexter, damages - to name a few |

LOST tends to do this. I don't know why I'm even surprised at this point. They have an INCREDIBLE, GNARLY, WICKED episode, and then the next one is convulated and completely pointless - except for the very end. DUH! DUH! DUH!
Man, it's like the writers are stalling out - again. |
