Default Eddie Izzzard at the Spirit Awards

Anyone go? It was painful to watch Izzard. Was he totally high? Or is he just completely clueless about his lack of charisma, sense of humor and talent? I've never seen anyone flail that badly as a host.

who cares?! it's the only televised award show where the acceptance speeches aren't censored. have fun with that and forget the host.

also, i think it was the writers' fault with some of those bad jokes but at least EI acknowledged when they went over like dead.

I usually LOVE the Spirits, but I dunno. I don't think there were writers behind Izzard's bits this year. I think he was improving. "God is dead" isn't even really a joke ... it's just weird. You could tell Stiller wrote his own stuff, because it was actually funny and coherent.
