"The Secrets Of Action Screenwriting" by Bill Martell is once again in print -- much expanded (twice as long) and updated -- it's available for both Kindle and Nook readers at $9.99.
(If this is not the right forum for this, I apologize.)

It's actually a good screenwriting book. Good suggestions and advice without stifling creativity. Good stuff.
And, in all honesty, I gotta say there's still a few typos in there, Bill. Yeah, I'm a dick for pointing that out, but I had to say it. I bit my tongue with my Aunt's letter from Santa to my kids, and didn't say anything about the typos in that so...yeah, I'm a dick. BUT...it's still a good book to have handy. Pick it up if you haven't already. HH |

How many pages? I thought about downloading and printing it out.

I'm not sure exactly how many pages, but it's pretty big. Printing it out yourself would kill quite a forest.

Typo correction is an ongoing process. Had the first half (62k words) proofed by two people (plus me) and we still missed a dozen typos that I have since found... and corrected for future buyers. I'm sure I will find more - the last half was only proofed by me.
What's interesting: both of my proof readers (one who does this for a living) pointed out "grammar errors" that were not errors - one was a common phrase which is grammatically incorrect, but to correct it would make the phrase unrecognizable; and the other was a direct quote from someone who left out a word - maybe on purpose, but I'm not messing with what someone said. I should come up with a prize for 5 typos found - I *know* somewhere in there is an "an" which turned into an "and" and no one caught it. I was reading a paperback a couple of days ago that had a handful of typos in the first couple of chapters, and my favorite proof-read screw up of all time was a series of novels I read about a one armed detective who would "clasp his hands behind his head" at least once in every book - tough to do if you only have one hand to begin with! - Bill |

If it's causing a problem, you can always put (sic) next to the quote. Then people who know what that means won't think it's a typo.

Considered that - but felt it would draw too much attention - making a mountain out of a molehill. I think in both the common phrase and the quote only those really trying to find problems will notice them. The quote is completely understandable as dialogue - just grammmatically incorrect.

I downloaded a few of the blue books. Is there a way to print them out using the mac kindle program? I really don't want to kill a tree, but I am old school and I like to read off of a hard copy, not a screen.

Amazon UK has "4 used & new from £345.26" -- I could have bought one of those just for posterity, but what the heck, 5 seconds after clicking the button, it's on my Kindle! Screw posterity. Much reading ahead!
