Hey guys,
I have no connection to this script analyst other than being a satisfied customer. Not sure how many of you have used fiverr, but there's currently a script analyst on there offering notes for $5. http://fiverr.com/trapperab/read-your-screenplay What you'll get for $5: - General insights/comments from an experienced writer/analyst. - A page by page review of what "struck" the reader. (approx. 3 pages) - Quality, Straight to the point, actionable notes. - A low-cost alternative to other services. - Super fast turnaround (currently at 1-3 days) What you won't get: - A full coverage - Synopsis - Grading system, etc. Most beneficial to those of you who simply want a fresh set of eyes on their work. Cheers, HB |

I am tempted to give it a try, just to see what kind of hijinks ensue. |

Yes. Seems very odd, if not way too generous. and you know what they say: When something seems too good...
That said, Paul if you're willing to gamble on $5, then please do report back in. lol. EJ

I gave it a whirl. It's completely worth $5. He gave me some pretty decent notes, demonstrating he read the whole script, with a turnaround time of 3-4 hours. It seems ridiculous, but he's legit and perhaps he has some mad master plan that makes this worth his while.

Maybe for testimonials? Thanks for checking back in Paul.
Anyone else giving this a spin? EJ

Who the hell can afford to live on $1.00 an hour? Nobody within 200 miles of the Paramount lot. Unless this is a loss leader to build a client base it makes no sense.

Okay, so I tried on of these services (not the one Hendrix linked to) as a "what the hell" sort of thing. I received a bunch of notes as messages and at first, they pointed out problems I missed, and I got a PDF with notes on it. I gave good feedback on the amount of work done alone.
But then I actually read the notes. Again, some of it was pointing out problems, but some of it showed a lack of understanding for the characters. He wasn't really giving me notes on how to better accomplish what I wanted to accomplish, but his alternative story. All in all, a lot of the problems pointed out was a big help, but the suggestions on where to take the story and characters, notsomuch. |
