Has anyone seen any company come out with an electronic ink computer monitor yet? I've searched without success, although the technology is obviously there. I've only found it being used in eBook readers. Something along the lines of a 20" or larger display. I'm sure it's got to be less fatigue on the eyes than even LCD.

I've never seen one commercially.
They have incredibly low refresh rates - so if someone tried to use it as a normal computer monitor they'd end up throwing it it out the window. LG had one at the trade shows a few years ago .. but it certainly isn't commercial. Mac |

You can use the Kindle DX as an E Ink computer monitor thanks to MobileRead.com users NiLuJe and hawhill. Here are the directions:

I especially love this part in these directions that I would never be able to follow:

Speaking of e-Ink screens, it appears the newest B&N Nook Simple Touch will have a built-in reading light, called GlowLight. http://www.barnesandnoble.com/ Apparently Amazon is working on lighting their e-Ink readers also, but they're working with a different approach. Quote:
Either one looks pretty good to me. I'm guessing when these catch on that will be the end of the non-illuminated Kindles and Nooks.

I found a pretty acceptable substitute: a 24" LED television with VGA port. Hooked my laptop to it, then set the TV to its "energy saver" mode, which really cut down on the brightness and glare. Very happy with it!
