There's a nice Jack Handy, Steven Wright vibe about these. Not quite at that level, but at least I see what you're going for.

The mother in law one works that way.

Watch your punctuation...oddly it's fighting the rhythm. The mom in law almost needs a comma and then a "because hey, she already..."

Anyway, you're approaching funny with these, and it's a tricky kind to write. If they fail, people don't often recognize what you were even attempting.
