I'm kind of looking forward to this. I love the scary old fairy tales where there's cruelty and hacking and heart carving and wolves eating little girls.

My goodness, they had stronger women in movies in the 1920's, 30's and 40's. And they didn't have to act like men to be strong!
I don't know what "acting like men" means. I also don't know how long it's gonna take to get the dog **** out of my workboot treads. Been at it for ten minutes already.

chicks with swords and bows & arrows are NOT acting like men. they're acting like women. if you notice most of these stories the women are compassionate about saving another, like their child, sister, boyfriend, etc... they don't kill for the sake of killing. that would be acting like a man.

I think it is worth seeing just on the fact that the script sold for $3.2 million because Rupert Sanders wanted it to be his debut.

I would think that several people think it will be worth seeing since they are already getting ready for the sequel and it hasn't even come out yet.

You mean someone other than Julia Leigh's mother and best friend saw this film? I find that very hard to believe.

I am really liking this girl-centric action movie trend.

Not a big fairytale person but I'll catch it on DVD.

I did. It was false advertisement. Not much action. Narrative problems. Plotting problems. Great visuals which do not enhance the storytelling. Big let down.
