So-called script doctors, a.k.a. writers who do a lot of weeklies and polishing
I may be writing a short magazine article on so-called "script doctors" in Hollywood (although I know most actual writers don't really like that term), and I'm wondering if people could pitch in with any SOLID information they have on the topic.
So for example, the range of how much they tend to get paid and for how long, who the busiest have been before (like Robert Towne, for example), who the top ones are today, etc... (Some of those who I assume do a lot of script polishing and weeklies these days include Billy Ray, Scott Frank, and John August.)
I would of course need to follow up and fact-check this and other info, but if folks can help me get the ball rolling I'd appreciate it...
