Default Project Greenlight

I know that this reality show happened aaaaaaages ago, but I finally have gotten around to watching the first season and I think it should be compulsory viewing for any aspiring screenwriter/director.

Just wanted to remind people who haven't had a chance to have a watch it that this incredibly entertaining series is out there. Both frustrating and inspirational. Mostly the former.

I enjoyed it, too. I learned a lot about how films are made, and besides that, it was just fun to watch.

Obviously I understand that these shows can be cut in a certain way to show people in their worst light (who wants to watch a reality show where people are being completely reasonable?), but I do think there is a great lesson to be learned from this show in regards to the importance of humility and listening to people with more experience than you.

Something that might be helpful on these very forums.

Second season is even more instructive and entertaining than the first. BATTLE OF SHAKER HEIGHTS got saddled with the wrong directors and was slaughtered in the rewriting process.

Third season (FEAST) was never put on DVD, but it's well worth watching if you know how to find it. Side note: I came close to the finals that year!

Wasn't it you who I mailed my season to? I thought so. I might be crazy. That was a long time ago.

I know I mailed it to someone on this forum, and said to that person to pass it on to another forum member when complete. So if that's you, pass it on

And yeah, I thought it was fun season. Definitely worth seeing.

I vaguely remembered that mail-chain idea, and was interested in receiving it, but I don't think I was the person you sent it to (if I was, I never received it). I found it another way.

Agreed on all counts. Great show. Own the first two seasons and probably watch 'em at least once a year. Can't tell you how much I wish season three would be released on disc....

Yeah, this was one of my favorite shows. Wish they'd bring it back. I don't even think it's on DVD. Kinda sad John Gulagar was last scene directing Piranha 3DD.

The first season was probably the best since the whole project was so obviously and incredibly doomed from the start.
