Default Contact advice

Okay, so I've had this GREAT idea for a long, long time already, and the only reason I've not written it is because I'm trying to focus more on something that may actually sell.

Without giving anything away, it's a super hero-kind of flick, heavy on action, set in a dystopian future, but as it's not a known brand, would never gain the required budget.

I don't want to go the comic book route so was maybe thinking animation. But I'm not sure.

So, my point: anyone have any suggestions which way to go? I'm done stewing and want to get this out!
Whom would/should I contact upon completion?

Learn coding, animation and video editing?

I respect your opinion as I've read a lot of your posts since becoming a member, but in this case, where time is the deterent (as in: why write something that will stand a snowball's chance in hell of selling when I could focus on 1 or 2 other projects instead?), I honestly think that I could knock out a few solid scripts in the next few years if I wrote as opposed to doing the above.

I guess somebody may like the finished product and/or it could be used as a writing sample. I'll write it one day, for sure, but the maxim of "writing only projects which can sell" holds a lot of weight whilst I'm still an amateur.
i try and work all angles and non-traditional routes. ie - i just complete a couple of trailers that i posted on vimeo...
Ah, so that mock ad' advice was a trick you yourself use?
I totally misinterpretted and thought that you were telling me to make a Pixar or Japanese animation-style ad as a selling piece!

exactly! i just started doing it and it's kind of fun and interesting.
i doubt you've ventured onto the Amazon Studios website, but they have these trailer competitions... trailers made by screenwriters from scripts that have not been produced. it's a visual pitch... and just another marketing tool.

I'm really not trying to be an ass, but why do you constantly ask questions that you could easily google yourself?

you're great at being an ass, and you're right I could have googled it, but thanks for the link! Yippie!

A fab. video there is Employment. It has a touch of Grotowski's way of perfoming. Great little short.
