Hey guys,

Got a read request by development exec., Lacy Boughn. Wondering if anyone has any experience with being read at Escape Artists/The Steve Tisch Company. How long was the response time and what was the response it like?

Thanks guys

Great submission. Tisch's assistant. Not sure about their response time - I'm holding Sony submissions right now. She's really nice though.

I had a meeting once with Lance Johnson over at Escape Artists. Super nice guy. Heard good things about Todd Black, too.

Can't remember the turnaround time other after they read the material, they wanted to meet with me. Mostly to see what else I was working on.

They read one or two of my scripts. They get back to you fast, which is nice.

Just wondering, how the heck do you guys get through to these people? Emails? Phone calls? Letters? Bribes? Subterfuge?

Never heard of Lacy.

And I used to have a manager, which is mostly how I got through. Then I bludgeoned him to death and dumped his body in the LA river. I guess my Nicholl placement helped, too -- despite what others might tell you.

Last week Lacy requested my screenplay. She has it now, so it's a waiting game. My question is how long do I wait before I assume they are not interested? And, will they let you know if they are passing on your screenplay or do as others companies and just not respond?

Hi, would it be possible to obtain an e-mail address for Escape Artists/The Steve Tisch Company I wasn't able to find one online. Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I would always assume that it's going to be a pass - not because I'm a pessimist but because if you stop querying whenever the script is out, you're going to waste YEARS!

Lacy read a script of mine off a cold email query, passed, pretty quick. I think she does generally respond.

Four hours. Loved it. Too small. Pass.
