Greg.. wherever you are out there... you will be missed, but I'd like to extend my gratitude for your tireless efforts over the years, including making me feel welcome during my week-long visit ten years ago (amazing it's been ten years). More than all the time you devoted to the Nicholl Fellowship competition, you were always so generous with your time right here on this particular forum, answering questions and dealing with us neurotic writers... all with great patience and good humor. Tip of the hat. |

![]() Happy trails, Greg! Huge appreciation to you for years of incredibly hard work, dedication, and support for struggling screenwriters. Whoever takes your place has big shoes to fill. All the best!

![]() I'm so sorry to hear Greg is retiring! The Nicholl Fellowship is such a professional and terrific contest. I was a semi-finalist this year and the quality of the people that have reached out (and continue to email even now) to read my script is completely amazing.
Good luck in your next adventure, Greg! Thank you for the many years of encouragement and for running a great contest! |

![]() Sorry to hear of Greg retiring. Have a good memory of sitting around with him at Austin. What a nice guy. Lots more free time now, where he doesn't have to read screenplays unless he wants to.

It may be different with finalists and winners where the writing ability and the writer are more the focus of being contacted instead of the script itself. Last edited by nguyensquared : 02-25-2018 at 09:38 AM. |

![]() Hey all, I'm new around here... Been writing for years though...I made the Nicholl semis this year and have just started querying managers mainly as a result, being sure to mention the SF...Nothing has come of it yet though
![]() Interested to hear any success stories though as a result of Nicholl SF's ![]() |

![]() Hey Holbrook -- I made the semis this year as well. So far I've had one person receptive to me sending my script over. That's one out of probably eight that I've sent thus far. But that already beats my experience from making the semis last year! LOL. Based on my experience, by all means query away with your Nicholl placement placed prominently in your query, but don't get your hopes up.

![]() I think Lee Stobby offers to read any QF/SF, so maybe try him? After reading the thread on him in the managers section.
