hopefully if HBO is willing to give David a 2-hr movie to wrap things up, they'd be willing to go a little bit further and make it a limited event series

As somebody who can safely say that Deadwood is my all-time favorite television show, I will take the movie and be happy.

If Milch wanted to do anything beyond that, I'd be supportive, but all he's ever spoken of was the movie and that's where his creative locus would be. I think the show ended well (not well for the characters, but for what the show was, certainly,) and just going back to the well too much has inherent risks.
