Default Producer's submissions to networks...

I have a producer attached to a screenplay. She claims she is very tight with the president of a large cable network -- and she submitted the script to him. But it's been about 6 weeks and no word yet from the president. Doesn't this seem odd that it would take so long if the producer was really that tight with him? The producer is legitimate and has several produced films on that cable network along with others. Based on my experience, a screenwriter's submission can easily take that long -- or longer. But a producer's seems like it should be faster. Any thoughts?

It might be going through various rounds of reads. It might already be dead. It might be getting caught in the secondary pile because TV is in pilot season and that sucks up all the air.

I've had stuff move fast and stuff move slow and there doesn't seem to be any strong correlation between speed and which is more likely to actually get made.
