    Re: Your Favourite Current Director?

And the Coen brothers. And George Clooney.

I'm also very interested in seeing 'Suburbicon', directed by George Clooney and written by the Coen brothers.

And Sam Mendes. Can't wait for his new doc on Rufus Wainwright to come out.

And Philip Kaufman. (as in 'Quills' rather than 'Twisted')

    And Jane Campion. And Spielberg.

        Todd Field.

In the Bedroom and Little Children were brilliant. Looking forward to more of his work.

If I could only mention one single director, then that would be Christopher Nolan.

I'm shocked that no one has mentioned Chan Wook Park, Guillermo del Toro, or Michel Gondry. Those three would be near the top of my overall list.

Michael Mann - still managed to be an auteur.

Guillermo Del Toro - still promising

            Christopher Nolan - Not a mis-step yet.

Paul Thomas Anderson - for Hard Eight, Boogie Nights and There Will Be Blood.

Ridley Scott still has it, but...

David Fincher has fallen out of graces...

The Coen Bros are back in good graces with No Country.

I don't really have a #1 favorite director... does that make me weird?

I like him, too. Does he have anything in the works? I haven't heard of anything lately.

I also haven't seen 'Looking for Comedy...". Do you recommend it?
