  • Django Unchained Trailer (Tarantino)

    http://cinemavine.com/first-trailer-...ngo-unchained/

Something looks off. It seems too contemporary. Thought it would be more rugged. Seems a little goofy... Might still be good...

Thanks, last line of dialogue, for catering to my needs. Now I don't feel half as stupid!

He's gotten carried away with the wacky quality of his work and when it works like with Kill Bill, it's a fun carnival ride. When it doesn't like in Inglourious Basterds and seemingly here, it's too goofy for my tastes.

Interesting soundtrack choice. Looks like 2 wild hours, it's got my $10.

Not everyone - in fact, almost no one - agrees with me, but I like Tarantino's newer films better. Kill Bill, Inglorious Basterds... love'em.

I was struck with Inglorious, how long he was able to carry a single scene - the opening, the bar in the basement...

I think the point of the last line was a slave unashamedly telling a white man he knows how to read. Badass stuff.

Loved the trailer. Definitely going to be there on Christmas.

i've already decided to let some things slide... like the contemporary bits: ie - a black woman with a perm and django wearing that steve harvey pimp outfit

That's because of the music, the funky graphic titles, and the fast editing. None of which are part of the actual film, even if it might be hard to think of them as separate when watching the trailer. I think the footage itself makes this look like a serious, gritty western. Poetic, even.

                          Looks great.

I think it was more of an inside joke referencing the original Django films.
