Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in.

Ah, damn you! God damn you all to hell!

          Count me probably in.

Re: Halloween contest - GHOST TOWN

I've got three lines almost finished of my Children of the Corn meets Children of the Wheat Ghost Town extravaganza. ( I can't believe I just spelled extravaganza without making a mistake. )

I personally feel Wheat is actually scarier than corn. (I did misspell wheat)

              This is corn ...

              This is wheat ...

Three lines if you count the title.

I'm outlining an outline in the creative space in my head... which is a bit of a ghost town at the moment.

Make that 1 WEEK to deadline! Told you the weeks would fly in, but oh no, you didn't believe me.

Edit: make that 5 days including today.

                      Outlining, done.
                      First couple of scenes, done.
First couple of scenes deleted, done.
                      Rinse, lather, repeat.

It may or may not have included a ghost... Or two.

Re: Halloween contest - GHOST TOWN

Last week I saw The Shining (1980) again, and I still have a problem with who or what opened the storeroom door to let Jack out. For me, that crosses a line in the supernatural sand, and seems a bit of a writer's cheat. Also, I don't like Jack being in that 1920s photo at the end. It's spooky fun for a moment, but it makes no sense, and means what exactly? That Jack was reincarnated in an identical body?

Anyhow, for my Ghost Town contest script, I'm trying to make sure that the rules I've set for its supernatural world are never broken - and that's a fun challenge.

I hated The Shining. That is all.

I don't quite hate The Shining, but it doesn't stand up to scrutiny, and it may be just an elaborate triumph of style over substance.
