  • Chess moves needed

So I know nothing about chess.

I'm doing an exchange between two people over the phone who are talking but also playing chess. Between dialogue they need to tell eachother what move they are making.

Can someone give me 5 real moves written out the way you would say it to someone not present? Please make the last move, a wining move. I believe you say, check mate?

    Hope this makes sense. Thanks!

Put "Rubbish" before "CHECK-MATE" It solves ALL 5.

      Opening?

'e2 to e4' -- this is a king pawn opening

then the other player -- 'c7 to c5' -- sicilian defense

then for white -- knight from g1 to d3.

      black -- knight from b8 to c6.

Those are standard openings for a Sicilian -- which is a defense to king's pawn opening by white. If you need more let me know.

Can you quote the actual dialogue, I'm not sure if some of those words are included in what's needed to be said or just your explanation. Also, I need it to be the last moves of the game, the last move needs to be a check, or check mate, whatever ends the game. I believe you are giving me an opening, I need the end.

          Thanks!!!

Yes, but why would that matter? I just need 5 moves that end at check or check mate (whichever means you win)

I hope you guys understand what I'm asking. I can see how this could be confusing Anyone?

                  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Descriptive_chess_notation

Basically it just going to be something like :

                  "knight to queen's bishop 3"

                  "pawn to queen's knight 4"

                  "bishop to king's knight 5"

                  Check mate....

these are just examples and some chess guru may be laughing now... but it would work fine, unless you really want to study chess or look up the notation of an actual game, and just copy those moves...

Perfect! Can you actually give me three more before check mate? the dialogue went on a little longer than expected. Thanks!

                      Re: Chess Notation

                      "knight to queen's bishop 3"

                      "pawn to queen's knight 8"

                      "rook takes pawn"

                      "King's side castle"

                      "bishop to king's knight 5"

                      "rook takes bishop"

                      Check mate....

something like that, may "make it more exciting"... but again, I pulled these moves out of my butt... to a real chess player, it might make no sense at all... but it works for what is needed....

Like I said before... If you want it to be 100% realistic... check the link I provided, and do a lil studying or just simply look up a real game and copy the end of it, for your script

Descriptive chess notation would probably satisfy your needs and was commonly used in the United States; however, its use has diminished over the past few decades, with the wider use of algebraic chess notation.

You're right; makes no sense at all, to me.

"The Eighth Square at last!" she cried as she bounded across, and threw herself down to rest on a lawn as soft as moss, with little flower-beds dotted about it here and there. "Oh, how glad I am to get here! And what is this on my head?" she exclaimed in a tone of dismay, as she put her hands up to something very heavy, and fitted tight all round her head.

"But how can it have got there without my knowing it?" she said to herself, as she lifted it off, and set it on her lap to make out what it could possibly be.

                          It was a golden crown.

                            Re: Chess moves needed

There sure are some conflicting answers here. The links are also all very cool and I'm very thankful, however I need 5 moves, in order, written out, that end in a check mate. These links tell me how they might look or what moves are, and the history and fundamentals of the game. But give no examples of the last 5 moves that would lead to a checkmate, that's really all I need. Something said over a phone, not in person.

                            Anyone?

Psuedo-algebraic notation. A little more conversational than the written down notation.

                              PLAYER ONE
                              Rook takes pawn at f6.

                              PLAYER TWO
                              King to g8.

                              PLAYER ONE
                              Bishop to c4.

                              PLAYER TWO
                              King to h8.

                              PLAYER ONE
                              Queen to f4. Checkmate!
